It makes some things easier, and some things much harder. On the one hand, I've seen people use it to tremendous effect, and the shit you can get away with while the 'spotlight' is on you is frankly absurd
On the other, it can really interrupt your morning if, for instance, your boss is a fucking Destiny Princess and she's having an emotional moment. Or if she wants to make her workload easier.
Or if she's just filling time with an off-the-cuff ditty and you happen to be in her vicinity.
I should have read the board more closely... I've been meaning to for some time, but every single time I only manage to catch a glimpse of it before something pulls me away from it.
This bears investigation, and I swear every time I start thinking about it it makes me feel like I'm going insane-
There's a phenomenon I'm choosing to call 'the spotlight', where whatever's going on in your immediate vicinity is mostly about you. It... seems as though as long as you have 'the spotlight', it's more likely? But I've also seen people somehow steal the spotlight, in situations where they might not otherwise have it, or. Some people just naturally seem to have it most of the time, for some reason.
Like I said, there's no real way to explain this and sound sane.
